Natures Wisdom Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is extremely pure and it is important to have a consistent shape diatom and no unwanted sediment. The shape of the diatom must be tubular with holes on the walls, and it must be from fresh water because the diatoms form a harder shell and are less fragile than those in salt water. Out of 600 deposits in the US, only 4 are considered "food grade". DE is not an earth, but rather the fossilized remains of microscopic shells created by one-celled plants called diatoms.

We package this 100% USA Manufactured, high-density polyethylene and injection-molded 5-gallon specialty latch bucket with a fully secured, air-tight, screw-top white lid. The bucket is children-resistant and senior-friendly, approved to UN and DOT-35 codes for plastic screw-top pails. It is a reusable plastic pail with a durable, riveted plastic handle, and a reusable, resealable plastic lid that features a unique trigger mechanism that automatically locks the lid when closing and has a simple, finger-activated release to allow the lid to be opened.

The plastic screw-top pails are white, and the new generation latch lids are also white. These pails are designed to hold a lot of chemicals, dry goods, or other materials while preventing unwanted openings. The innovative trigger mechanism automatically secures the cover, which is tamper-evident, senior-friendly, and child-resistant, yet easy to open and reseal. The lid also features a vacuum-tight, moisture-resistant seal. Additionally, the pail offers great stack-ability and pours stored liquid without dripping. The first screw-top with a built-in turning handle for ease of opening and closing.

The pail and lid are made from prime virgin HDPE and feature a vacuum-tight, moisture-resistant EPDM seal. They are UN Certified for Liquid Groups II & III, with outside dimensions of 12.75" top width at the lid (10.25" wide pail bottom) x 16.75" H, and bucket inside dimensions of 11.25" x 10.25" x 15.25" H. The minimum cover and pail wall thickness is 0.090".
